So many Houston transients receive food, beverage, Bibles, and hygiene supplies as we distribute them under the overpass at Chartres St & Preston St, Downtown Houston.

Every visit brings new faces and new opportunities

Distributing food and supplies gives Jesus Cares Ministry the opportunity to share the love of Christ with every new client that appears. The needs and desires of each person vary greatly, and we hope to expand what we can offer to meet their needs.

Prayer is always a blessing

Being able to pray with recipients who request it always blesses us. So many needs are mentioned, and God has always shown himself to be faithful. It is true that God is no respecter of persons. It is a privilege to minister to these folks in need.

More than food and water

There are many needs that go beyond a meal. While we are blessed to have short winters, there are needs that are not just seasonal - backpacks, hygiene products, Bibles, and more volunteers to pray. There are other needs that we try to meet as we're capable: transportation via Houston Metro, clothing, shoes, blankets/sleeping bags, referrals to other area resources, etc.

Visit a nursing home

About 1.3 million people currently live in 15,600 nursing homes, according to the CDC . That provides nearly endless opportunity to visit and encourage a segment of our population that is frequently forgotten and overlooked. We feel a special place for these elderly folks because they helped our world get to where we are today. Whether it's a religious service or simply stopping by to say hello to a stranger, please visit a nursing home soon! If you don't want to go alone, contact us and you can join us when we visit.

We challenge you to make one small change today to help someone who cannot help you back. Whether it's a phone call, a quick visit, an encouraging letter, financial support for a ministry, making a donation of supplies, or making someone smile, you can do one small thing.
